Eve Schott Taub
Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor
My practice is built on the belief that anxiety, conflict and self doubt do not have to be an all encompassing part of anyone’s everyday life. My passion is to work with teens, couples, individual adults, families, and supervisees. I utilize a cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, strength-based, solution-focused and culturally sensitive approach to counseling. My goal is to create a warm, empathetic and safe atmosphere in which my clients and supervisees thrive. I believe taking part in therapy is courageous and shows a willingness to grow and make positive change. I am continually impressed by the resilience of my clients and consider it my privilege to provide therapy.
Services - both in-person and virtual offered
Teenage Peer Support Groups - In a constantly-connected, social media-fueled world, the normal pressures of growing up are magnified and often inescapable. The increased access to information, opinions and peer feedback can heighten the already high anxiety that comes with being a teenager. I love to help teens learn to build their emotional vocabulary and identify social cues so they can gain confidence and feel empowered to make good decisions, knowing their voice is heard. Through individual treatment and peer support groups, I provide a safe space in which to take on and address all issues an adolescent may experience.
Individual Counseling- Every person deserves to feel comfortable, confident and content in their own skin. I provide an environment to explore obstacles and identify strategies to improve one's quality of life.
Family Therapy - I employ a Systemic/Structural approach to family therapy, examining the family unit as a whole. Through regular meetings with the family as well as individual sessions with family members, I help family members find the words and the confidence to advocate for themselves. We all know parenthood is exasperating at times;
you are not alone! My goal is to provide a supportive and empathic enviroment. I help parents realize that parenting is not negotiating and teach ways to utilize positive reinforcement as well as other strategies. Additionally we work together to hone parenting skills which will be utilized to resolve conflicts and help find a comfortable balance in the home.
Couples Counseling - Communication is the cornerstone of every successful human interaction, it is especially crucial to a long-term romantic relationship. In addition to helping couples speak and listen to each other effectively, I work with them to enrich their emotional vocabulary to aid in conflict resolution. We work on creating the tools to manage issues big and small in healthy, productive ways.
Clinical Supervision - Supervision is not only a requirement for licensure; it is a powerful tool for improvement throughout a counselor’s career. Many counselors seek out supervision to enhance their professional abilities. For a counselor supervisor, the ACS (Approved Clinical Supervisor) shows supervisees that you take pride in your supervision.
